Synopsis:
Ziko is a sleepwalking young man who has just been exiled from his village for a serious crime he committed in his sleep. This decision is signaled to all the surrounding villages. On a cruel winter day, Ziko tries to reach the city by passing through villages that await him with hatred. A deaf-mute hunter who ignores all this also goes to town on the same day, taking the same route.
Directors: Yılmaz Özdil
Yılmaz Özdil was born in Hakkari. After his master's degree at the Panthéon Sorbonne University, he defended his PHD entitled "The visual construction of Kurdish identities in cinema" at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University. He directed several documentaries and worked as an assistant director on several films shot in Turkey, Iraq and France. He is working at Mardin Artuklu University as an Assistant Professor. The Heavy Burden (2019) is his 1st and Aforoz is his 2nd fiction film as a director.
