Simsim is a woman approaching her thirties, trying to escape her reality by finding a dream man who can rescue her and her daughter. When she finally finds him, she must convince her estranged husband to grant her a divorce — and the only way to do so is by finding him a new bride.

Sondos Smerat is a Jordanian film director who earned a Bachelor’s degree with honors in Drama and Filmmaking from Yarmouk University in 2022. She began her career directing award-winning short films. She was chosen to direct Simsim, the first narrative feature film produced in Irbid, making her the first woman to head such a production outside the Jordanian capital.
