Kolya Zvansky is an ordinary Moscow schoolboy, living an ordinary childhood life. Suddenly his father is arrested as an “enemy of the people”, and gradually everyone who was around him turns away from the boy in fear. The music teacher refuses to continue lessons, former friends not only stop communicating, but also begin to beat him. Only the girl whom he loves remains nearby, but she is also forbidden from seeing him. In addition, his mother and brother are threatened with arrest, but most importantly, at school he is persuaded that he must disown his father....

Director Biography - Lyudmila Sadovnikova

Lyudmila Sadovnikova was born in Moscow in 1971. She graduated from Moscow Pedagogical State University in 1994 with a degree in history, and later in 2012 she graduated from the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors. She worked at the State Historical Museum, later at the State Museum of Gulag History, and made visual anthropological films for museums and television. Since March 2022, he has been an employee of the Russian Memorial Society. She is the author of the visual anthropological projects “My Gulag” and “Gulag is Right Here,” during which, since 2013, she has been filming people repressed in the USSR from the 1920s to the 1990s.
