Synopsis

In the turbulent landscape of Tripoli in 2013, a foreign priest on the verge of departure faces a moral imperative. Compelled to assist a group of migrants sheltered in a remote cave amid the expansive Libyan desert, he enlists the services of Omar, a local smuggler with intricate knowledge of the treacherous terrain. Together, they embark on a perilous quest to locate the cave and render aid.

Time passes, one migrant makes the audacious decision to venture across the barren desert, aiming for the gateway city of Tripoli.

 

Director - Marouene Labib

Marouene Labib is a Tunisian director and producer born in Tunis in 1988. In 2023, he directed and produced the short film "Leni Africo." This 30 minutes fiction film was selected in more than 15 international Film Festivals and won the Golden Wihr at the 2024 Oran International Film Festival and the Grand Prix in the 2024 Transsaharien Film Festival in Zagora, Morocco.
