FILKOOL

FILKOOL

Synopsis:

FILKOOL is not just a story; it is a reflection of my life. An intimate narration born from living alongside my brother with Down Syndrome—an outlook that has, for years, shaped not only my art but the very path of my life. I am not only an illustrator and director but also a sister who, with love and coexistence alongside MAZDAK, has experienced a world full of diversity, creativity, and light. What many might see as a "project," for me is a way of life—living with respect for differences and learning from them.

MARAL FOROUZESH

Is an Iranian illustrator, Graphic Designer, and Art Director. She has been working professionally in the field of illustration for several years and has developed a unique artistic style that combines the paintings of her brother, MAZDAK — who has Down Syndrome — with her own illustrations. This magical fusion creates a poetic and imaginative world filled with characters and narratives that convey themes of diversity, empathy, and creativity.

MARAL is the founder of the international art project “ROUTE 47,” which aims to empower individuals with Down Syndrome through art. The project includes creative workshops, collecting and showcasing their artworks, and organizing dedicated exhibitions in various countries. ROUTE 47 is a movement to recognize these amazing children as independent, talented, and inspiring artists.
