SYNOPSIS

Berfo KIRBAYIR searched for her son Cemil, who was disappeared in custody during the 1980 military coup, for 33 years. She never gave up the fight until she passed away at the age of 105. Alongside the Saturday Mothers in Istanbul’s Galatasaray Square, she refused to let the lost be forgotten. Before she died, she left a will: “Do not bury me until you find my son.” But her wish could not be fulfilled. Now, next to her grave, an empty grave waits for Cemil.

Director Biography - Onur Demircivi

Born in 1981 in Ovacık, he graduated with a bachelors of International Relations. The director, who has been interested in visual arts since his high school years, held his first solo photography exhibition in York, England. In June 2024, he shot his first short film, "105 -33," which he wrote and directed in Turkey. He is currently working on new short and long film projects.
