The Crying of Tanbur

Tanbur is the national instrument with the help of which, as the music teacher says, the ancestors carried the souls to another world. In Dushanbe, military operations are going on for the second year. Hafiz’s father is a journalist in a military hot spot reporting on the war. While the family awaits the father’s return, Hafiz endures increasing stress, hunger, and his own fears. He is also keeping a secret he doesn’t dare tell others.
