Amman native Rand AbdelNour, MFA in painting and drawing, is the head of department of Fine and Performing Arts at King’s Academy. She has worked as a production designer, art director and scenic painter on the set of local and international film productions since 2008 and has held joint exhibitions and a solo art exhibition in Amman. AbdelNour tackles unjust articles in the Jordanian penal law using visual cultural motifs, playing with transparencies, repetition, overlapping patterns, flatness and three-dimensionality to camouflage and at times assert the presence and the identities of the women that are affected by the unjustness of the laws.
Exhibition curated by Nadine Toukan
The Fahrelnissa Zeid Hall is open all day throughout the duration of the festival
