Directors: Noémie Merlant

Born in Paris in 1988, Noémie Merlant is an actress and director. Trained at the Cour Florent in 2012, she was named in 2017 as one of the best female hopes for the 42nd César ceremony for her role in Le ciel attendra de Marie-Castille Mention-Schaar. In 2019, the jury of the Riviera International Film Festival awarded her the Best Actress Award for her performance of Charlie in Nathan Ambrosioni's The Paper Flags. She shared the lead role in Portrait de la jeune fille en feu, a feature film by Céline Sciamma, which was acclaimed at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival for its Screenplay Award.

In 2020, Zoé Wittock's feature film Jumbo will be released in which she plays a new lead role. Insolence Productions, who produced the film, allows her to come back behind the camera as a writer and director. His next short film Shakira, produced by Anaïs Bertrand and Pascaline Saillant, was screened by the CNC and ARTE France. It will be released by 2020.
