Ali El-Safi:
Born and raised in Morocco, and after studying psychology in France, he embarked on a career in documentary filmmaking. His directorial work includes "Here We Are, General!" The silence of the beetroot fields, the film of Ouarzazate and the tears of the sheikhs ... which have been shown in many international film festivals. After his return to Morocco, he embarked on a long research journey on North African cinema and its visual archive that resulted in several visual creations and new films, including "Chapter Seven", which was first shown at the 2017 Berlin Film Festival and "Before Darkness Creeps", an experimental archive film that retrieves the memory of neglected artistic creativity For the first generation of artists in Morocco during the seventies, which was shown this year at the Amsterdam International Documentary Film Festival.
