The film revolves around an Egyptian psychiatrist living in London, who has been searching for two years to find a case- study for her PHD, and haven’t found any. However, she enthusiastically followed the uprising events of the revoultion happening in Egypt to find out through the different statements and declarations of the former regime’s public figures that they were talented in practicing the corruption in all aspects. She decides to go back to Egypt and select a corrupted public figure as her case. She gets to meet with a group of young revoultionaries on her quest to find the history of the minister she chose as her case to analyze the circumstances that led to develop such a character.
The plot revolves within a dramatic framework where RIM, (Menna Shalaby), a political revolutionary activist, working in one of the advertising companies, mingles with people and try to uncover what is happening in Egypt, especially the true reasons behind what is known as (The Battle of Jamal) through accomplishing a field research. She goes along with her friend (Farah) to Nazlat Samman area where she meets (Basem Samra) MAHMOUD, who stops working as a result of the revolution’s events, and then decides to participate in the famous Battle of Jamal, believing that the rebels are traitors and against stability. Although (Mahmoud) is one of those involved in the events of the battle, RIM becomes emotionally linked in one way or another with him.
After being in exile, Marie Seurat returns to Syria where she was born. Once there she decides to buy a home. In her search for her ideal home she soon begins to feel that she no longer belongs to the place that she once called home.
1/2 Revolution is a personal, intimate story from the Arab Spring: a group of friends living in downtown Cairo struggle to stay together during the first chaotic days of the Egyptian Revolution. As waves of protests escalate in their neighborhood next to Tahrir Square, directors Omar Shargawi and Karim El Hakim take to the streets to capture the historical events unfolding around them.
