Karama Human Rights Film Festival (KARAMA or KHRFF) is the first human rights film festival in Jordan. Initiated in 2010, it advocates for human rights, invites debate, encourages critical thinking and civil engagement through the screening of around 25 films and their discussion panels and post-screening debates.
But KARAMA is a film festival with a difference.
In order to deepen critical thinking and widen its reach, KARAMA also draws on culture and the arts, hosting musical concerts, poetry readings, theater performances and visual art exhibitions that deal with human rights issues. Karama believes in the exposure of human rights issues through all creative means. Following the success of KARAMA 2010, the 2011 edition will extend for 6 days starting on the 5th of December and ending on the 10th of December 2011 to mark the International Day for Human Rights.
Two assistant coordinators from Jordan are needed urgently to help in the preparations of Karama Human Rights Film Festival. If you are interested and have related work experiences, please contact us at ma3mal612@gmail.com or call 0795752023.
